Book & Pass The Ministry Exam ($39.55)

  • Use the TCN number to book your exam on the Serco Website here.
  • You can write the exam in person at a Service Ontario or online from your computer.
  • The ministry exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions. You will have 75 minutes to complete the exam, and you must score at least 63% or higher in order to pass.
  • Exam results will be available within 3 business days on average.

Waiting For Your License/Application

  • You will be able to check the status of your application online within two business days.
  • You will get a Digital License as soon as your application is approved. The printed digital license can be used as proof of licensing until you receive your plastic license card by mail.

Must Carry At All Times

You must carry your valid license (whether digital or card) at all times while performing any type of security guard function. Security Guards must identify themselves and show the front of their license to anyone requesting to have you produce it, including any member of the public.

Out Of Province License Transfers to Ontario

You might be able to transfer your non-Ontario license into Ontario without needing to undergo training in Ontario. Make sure your current non-Ontario license is valid and hasn’t expired. Then reach out to the Ministry in Ontario with the following details ready.
